Jason began working with WCK in 2017 during the Thomas Fire in California and has since assisted with various WCK efforts, across the US and internationally. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, where he launched several successful businesses. Now, as Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations, Jason oversees all of our relief work— from emergency response to special operations. He also utilizes his experience in procurement and operations to help our field operations run smoothly. When not working, Jason’s passions include his wife and two children, football, and the outdoors.

  • Islam told us that she joined the WCK team as a chef at Zomi’s Kitchen, our Khan Younis Field Kitchen, so she could help support displaced people. She is part of an incredible team of Palestinian women dedicated to providing desperately needed meals to communities in central Gaza living under unthinkable circumstances.

  • WCK is working with longtime food truck partners to provide nourishing meals to Texas families impacted by Hurricane Beryl. The team from Blk Mkt Birria supported our work in 2021 after severe winter conditions caused widespread power outages and left millions without heat. Now, the food truck is in Sargent serving up delicious tacos to people impacted by flooding caused by Beryl.

  • WCK provided hot lunches, sandwiches, apples, and water to families fleeing the fighting in Pokrovsk, a community in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The journey in search of safety further from the frontline is physically and psychologically challenging. We will support these families and others in the future by distributing meals at various points along the evacuation route.
