Food Without Conditions: WCK’s Ramadan Commitment in Gaza
Ramadan is a time of reflection, restraint, and gathering. It is a month shaped by care for others, by feeding one another, and by showing up with intention. It is also a time when the meaning of food becomes unmistakably clear.
For families in Gaza, this will be a third consecutive Ramadan marked by displacement, loss, and ongoing instability. In this context, a meal is not only nourishment, it is a sign of care, dignity, and presence. It is a reminder that families are not forgotten.
Guided by the belief that food is a universal human right, World Central Kitchen is serving communities through Ramadan and beyond. Since 2023, our teams and partners have delivered food to families across the Middle East, adapting operations as conditions change and need persists.
This Ramadan, WCK’s focus is clear: deliver 100,000 Ramadan food kits, providing the equivalent of up to 7 million individual meals throughout the month. Each kit helps families begin the fast with sustenance at suhoor and break it with dignity at iftar, alongside daily hot meals, bread, and clean water prepared by Palestinian-led kitchens and community partners. These kits complement the hundreds of thousands of hot meals our teams deliver each day.

Our approach is grounded in cooking fresh food, close to the communities we serve, and working alongside local partners who understand what families need most. Ramadan food kits include halal-certified ingredients selected for familiarity, nourishment, and ease of preparation, while our kitchens cook culturally appropriate meals every day.
As millions around the world observe Ramadan, we invite everyone, regardless of background or faith, to stand with families facing hunger. This is a month that calls for presence, responsibility, and compassion translated into action.
This Ramadan, our commitment remains simple and unwavering: food, without conditions.
When people are hungry, we feed them.
