First Alert: WCK Responds to New Blazes in Spain as Relentless Wildfire Season Rages
World Central Kitchen is once again responding to wildfires in Spain. The provinces of Huelva, Castellón, and Segovia are all facing blazes that have displaced families, destroyed buildings, and cut off road access. First responders are working to contain the fires, which remain unpredictable as they move toward Seville. We are working with local partners to serve meals as quickly as possible to the people who need us most.
We have spent much of this summer responding to blazes in Spain. We began by serving families and first responders in Ávila and Madrid impacted by the Burgohondo fire. Soon, needs arose across Castellón, Salamanca, and Zamora. Now, our teams will be working across the country to serve various communities as the situation on the ground remains unpredictable.
This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and Facebook for real-time updates.
