José Andrés: WCK Aid Trucks Enter Gaza
On March 3, 2026, some of WCK’s trucks made it through the Gaza border. Our founder José Andrés has more: “Some of our trucks made it through the Gaza border today, which is good news. Every day we need more trucks and more food so we can keep feeding hungry families. But it’s not enough. We need a constant flow of food and fuel. Every day. All the humanitarian groups need their trucks to go through, especially with medicine and medical supplies. This is the lifeline for Gaza and it needs to stay open.”
WCK Serving 1 Million Daily Hot Meals in Gaza
Today, World Central Kitchen reached a milestone, serving one million meals daily across Gaza. Thanks to our network of Field Kitchens, community kitchens, bakeries, and partners, more families—close to half of the total population—can count on a reliable meal each day.
Since 2023, our teams in Gaza have served more than 272 million meals, 73 million loaves of bread, and 6.4 million gallons of water. We are now serving more daily meals than ever. This scale is possible because food and supplies are now entering Gaza more predictably, allowing WCK teams to plan, cook, and distribute meals consistently.

Food Without Conditions: Ramadan and Always
In Ramadan, beyond the hundreds of thousands of hot meals our teams serve daily, WCK aims to deliver an additional 100,000 food kits so families receive food they can rely on throughout the month. Each kit is thoughtfully assembled with halal, culturally appropriate pantry staples, proteins, grains, oils, and traditional ingredients families use every day, from rice, lentils, freekeh, and pasta to olive oil, chickpeas, tahini, tomato paste, tea, and coffee.
Alongside these kits, iftar boxes include dates, dried fruits, nuts, milk, juice, and familiar Ramadan sweets to help families break their fast with dignity.
Over the course of the month, these kits alone account for up to 7 million individual meals.

WCK to Scale Up to 1 Million Meals a Day in Gaza
WCK is seeking to rapidly scale up production to an unprecedented one million hot meals a day.
The ambitious plan requires an increase to five high-capacity field kitchens and enough supplies to outfit scores of smaller community kitchens at the neighborhood level throughout Gaza.
WCK will also need extended supply chain access through multiple entry points and the ability to send in more than 100 trucks daily, as well as permission to directly import fuel.

100+ million meals for Gaza
Despite significant restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, our teams have delivered well over 100 million meals by land, sea, and air. We’ve set up four large-capacity Field Kitchens in southern and central Gaza and established a network of Palestinian-led, WCK-supported Community Kitchens that provide thousands of meals every day. With the help of local partners, we are expanding our food distribution efforts to the north, where the growing influx of returning families is increasing the demand for assistance.
